I read this the other day and thought it was really interesting. I suggest that everyone takes a look. I guess I would really like to hear why things like this are okay from the perspective of someone who supports unfair treatment like this even today. Anyway, I just thought this was a good thing to look at so we can all realize what a problem racism still is.

This outta be a wake up call right here. I laugh at people who think that the deep South has changed. Ropes hanging in trees, "designated" areas for black and white students. Like Kanye said, "Racism is still alive, they just be concealing it."
Interesting story. I suppose I will have to plead ignorance in regard to the prevalence of blatant racism in the South. I find it unfathomable that these sort of situations still arise, in any part of the United States. I was completely taken off-guard: This story should be headline news, not the death of Anna Nicole and subsequent legal disputes.
Judging by the linked article it would appear that the DA is certainly "out to get" the six boys. However, playing Devil's advocate for a moment, I have to argue that filing aggravated battery charges because a victim was kicked is hardly a stretch of the legal system. Shoes and feet are considered weapons, and the DA is within legal bounds in filing those charges.
