I think there are so many factors that contributed to the fall of the Confederacy. First and foremost, the Union Army finally found what they needed in order to be successful. The Confederacy did not have the resources to survive the length of the war and they didn't have the allies to back them up. The lack of goods coming from the North really set them back. Finally, there just were not enough men to continue the war. Most of the men had either died, were unable to fight, or desserted. But really, I think the length of the war was what did it. They just ran out of resources.
